The house site

The house site has begun!
The man got to play with his toy and lots of dirt.
We pegged out the area, made sure it was facing the right way (North) with the aide of a compass (he's got a scouts compass ya know!) the car's sat nav and a bit of farmer's knowledge we worked it all out.

We banged in a few star droppers, then started to measure, using two very long tape measures to get it square.

Before long it was done, the front end loader brought out and the fun began (for the man).
He's moved 100 cubic metres of sand and 100 cubic metres of clay.

There's still a little bit more work to go, like putting the sand somewhere and getting the levels exact, but the man will be onto that soon I'm sure :)

The Road

Heading from the top of the road down to the back of the dam is our new road,
cleverly cut out by the man of the valley :)
We are up to 14 loads of road rubble that has been brought in, thats a truck and trailer equaling to 30 tonnes each load.
We need 17 loads to finish it off, so not too many to go!

In between loads the man has been leveling it out. It's great to actually drive up 'our' road....it's quite exciting in fact.

The culvert completed!

Here is a shot of the complete culvert from across the dam. Looks pretty good hey!
